There is a lot of information on the subject, but I hope that you will find exactly what you need!
We should always have a list of traffic sources at our fingertips. Additionally, these should be trusted, reliable sources that we can turn to whenever we need.
There's a huge amount of information here to digest, but if you take just 1 of these traffic driving tips and put it to use within your website, you will see a dramatic change in your daily, weekly and even monthly visitors. Ultimately, this will lead to more sales and business growth for your brand.
1. Quantity Is King
- When the top blogs posted 5 articles per month, they had X visits per month.
- When these same blogs starting posting 5 articles per week, their traffic doubled.
I have seen the same thing with EBWAY and we’ve tried this many times. By posting an additional blog post each week, we were able to increase our blog traffic by over 20%. That's only 2 posts per week. Typically I can only do 1 article per month for my own brand since I guest post on other networks, but if I want to raise my traffic, all I have to do start creating more content. Yes, it is that simple!
APPLICATION: When posting in high frequency, make sure you are still maintaining the quality of your content. Writing a lot of blog posts that are low in quality won’t help you see a big increase in traffic.
2. Infographics Drive Traffic
Another fantastic way (that’s very simple) to increase your traffic is through infographics. This has worked well for blogs like Mashable, LinkedIn, etc and it’s what caused a huge spike in traffic for other major brand names.
APPLICATION: Create 1 infographic per month for 4-6 months + make sure you're using social media to get the word out and don't forget to use hashtags as well.
3. Create Headlines For People, Then Search Engines
The one thing that all popular blogs have in common is that they all get a lot of search engine traffic. “Why?” you may ask. It’s because they write blog headlines that appeal to people first and then search engines. This is the more long-term strategy, but it is very effective and the sooner you start, the sooner it will work for you.
APPLICATION: In the short run, you won’t notice much traffic from this strategy, but within 6 months, you’ll notice a nice increase in your search engine traffic. From that point, you’ll continue to see increases quarter over quarter.
4. Cover The Trending Topics
The biggest traffic days for large sites tend to be those when these sites would cover major events within their niche. The beautiful part about these surges in traffic is that when they are over, your traffic is still a bit higher than it was before the spike. It will dip when the trend is over, but the bottom visitor levels will be higher than the previous bottom.
APPLICATION: If you cover trending topics, you can use Google Trends (Google Trends) to see what is hot. Make sure you don’t write on just any topic. The content needs to be relevant to your niche. With a quick search on Google Trends, you should be able to get a good idea of what is increasing and what’s decreasing in search volume.
5. Keep Your Content Conversational
You can use tricks like “top commenters” to try to boost your numbers, but by making your blog posts sound like a conversation, instead of an essay, you’ll invite more comments from people naturally.
You can create the same effect on your blog by:
- Using the words “you” and “I” within your content.
- Asking questions throughout your blog post.
- Making sure anyone can understand your content…In other words, write for a 6th grader.
- Keep your paragraphs short and to the point.
Comments are a great way to increase your readers’ loyalty. If people continually comment on your blog, it means they are reading your content, and they are more likely to share it via the social web.
Who doesn't want to get unlimited traffic to their blogs? After all, many people use their blog posts to earn some real money. PPC Management is very much beneficial to attract huge traffic to the website. I especially liked the idea to concentrate on controversial topics. There's no better way to attract eyeballs than to write on controversies.
